National Parks
Tanzania is undoubtedly one of Africa’s most beautiful and interesting destinations. The country’s list of incredible sights include Africa’s highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro; the famous Serengeti National Park; awesome Ngorongoro Crater; Africa’s largest game reserve, the Selous; Africa’s longest and deepest lake, Tanganyika; and chimp sanctuaries Gombe Stream and Mahale Mountains national parks, just to name a few. Zanzibar and Pemba islands offer a tropical paradise with a Swahili touch, and Tanzania’s people are as friendly as they come.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area covers a vast expanse of highland plains, savanna, savanna woodlands and forest. Established in 1959 as a multiple land use area with wildlife co-existing with semi-nomadic people (Maasai) practicing traditional wildlife grazing, it also encompasses the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest caldera.
Without a doubt, hands down the greatest Game Park in Africa…… with a space covering 14,763 square KM, this place is truly spectacular in every sense, a place that you will hold in your heart forever. We suggest you include this in your safari itinerary for sure.
Often described as Tanzania’s most underrated National Park, Tarangire is one of Africa’s lesser known gems and a must for any Northern Circuit Itinerary.
