Luna Safari was founded with a lot of love by husband and wife team Michaela Scarr and Khalfani Sadiki,
Michaela is a British lover of Africa, its people and all things wildlife. Dreaming of sunnier shores since she was a young girl and working in the travel industry since the age of 18, Michaela spent over a decade putting together and managing volunteer projects and travel itineraries for people wanting to explore and give back to the environment and local communities all over the world prior to founding Luna Safari.
Having travelled the globe and after falling in love with Khalfani on safari beneath the glow of an African Super Moon, the call of the wild took over and she decided to set up life in Tanzania with only $500 and a dream. Michaela founded Luna Safari alongside her now loving husband and best friend Khalfani, a local Tanzanian born and bred with more passion for his country than you can imagine,
We build and deliver a maximum of 10 safari bookings per month in order to ensure we're able to continue to offer the sparkly level of personal service that we're famous for. Being here in country and being able to welcome you guys to Tanzania ourselves and to personally take care of you throughout your stay here is what makes our heart sing.

We offer different treks to Africa’s highest point and you’ll have a lot of fun dancing with Maasai Warriors.

Our Vehicles and Guides
You’ll travel in safety and style throughout with the use of our state-of-the-art and fully serviced 4 WD Land Cruisers.
All are equipped with a pop-up roof, purpose-built for optimal wildlife viewing and comfort, charger ports to keep the batteries alive in those all important cameras, as well as an ice cold fridge to keep your sodas and beers frosty, allowing you to enjoy a refreshing sundowner as you watch the wildlife at sunset.
Our guides, mountaineering team, and drivers are all highly experienced, having spent a combined over 40 years in the field, ensuring that you'll never miss an opportunity to spot the Big Five.
The excitement expressed by our guides on a daily basis is infectious and you’ll learn a lot along the way as well as leave with photographs you’ll treasure forever and no doubt Big Five shaped footprints all over your heart.

Safety is paramount.
We have experience of not only organising once-in-a-lifetime safari's for families, friends and couples, but in a previous life we also organised countless tours for gap year students and groups of young people undertaking school expeditions. We understand that safety is key and work to ensure that we deliver this in every aspect.
All of our vehicles are fully serviced, insured and checked over regularly. We pride ourselves on the professionalism and knowledge of our guides who are of course First Aid and Bush Safety trained.
Every journey or experience that we put in place for you has been fully risk assessed. We have contingency plans in place covering every eventuality so that you can sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
